Professional Development

Stay ahead of the latest trends, hear experts in related fields, understand the latest measurement and evaluation research and prepare yourself for the future of the profession by participating in one of the many programs offered each year, at a national, district or local level. PRSA-Madison chapter members receive special member rates for professional development programs at both the national and local level.

Earn your APR

Underscore your value to your organization by earning PRSA’s accreditation designation. Established in 1964, the APR program is the profession’s only national post-graduate certification program. It measures a PR practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application; establishes advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation; and demonstrates a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. For more information on earning your APR, please visit the PRSA APR webpage.

Awards and Recognition

PRSA runs an individual awards program to recognize people who, over the course of their careers, have made outstanding contributions to the profession.

On a chapter level, PRSA Madison hosts a joint annual awards program with PRSA Northeast Wisconsin, known as the WisCOMsin Awards. This chapter-level awards program recognizes stellar strategic communications projects and outstanding practitioners in our communities.
